Dermasphere Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon and Avesani Monument Run were scheduled on February 13, due to the sharp increase in infections from Covid-19 they move and will be held on Sunday May 01, 2022
VERONA - Unfortunately for all of us, 2022 began with the sharp increase in infections from Covid-19 which unfortunately is continuing its viral action.
After the second semester of 2021 where it seemed that the epidemic was under control and where Gaac 2007 Verona Marathon Asd had managed to successfully and satisfactorily organize the Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon last June 13, 2021 and the Verona Marathon on November 20, the will was for to carry out the Dermasphere Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon on February 13th in an almost normal way, while respecting all regulations.
Unfortunately it will not be so, given the persistence of the epidemic and the probable maximum peak of infections that authoritative rumors indicate in late January-early February, in agreement with local institutions the Dermasphere Giulietta&Romeo Half Marathon is forced to move on Sunday May 1, 2022 .
Gaac 2007 Verona Marathon Asd has health safety from Covid-19 in its organizational priority, in respect of all expected participants, about 8 thousand, and in respect of all Veronese citizens and the decision is unfortunately inevitable.
Sunday May 1, appears to be the best possible solution within a FIDAL calendar which is already very full of competitions and also having noted the various extra running events already scheduled in the city of Verona.
Aware that this change could bring about a change of program to several people among the thousands already registered for February 13, the decision was made as soon as possible and specifically communicated over a month before the event. In fact, it is believed that it was useless to risk canceling the event maybe just a few days before, not to say a few hours before, certainly causing greater damage.
The hope is that on 1 May the virus is definitely behind us and that we can only talk about running, great champions, fun, friendships and sports tourism which is so important for the city of Verona.
REGISTRATION - All the participants registered for the Dermasphere Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon and the Avesani Monument Run 10k are automatically registered for Sunday May 1st.
If someone is unable to participate on the new date, the organization gives the possibility to move their registration to Sunday February 12, 2023, always free of charge by filling in the following form no later than February 28, 2022.
FIXED RATE - Registrations were and remain open, in trying to meet as many participants as possible and in trying to underline the good faith of the organizers, the current rate of 38 euros destined to increase with the increase of participants up to at 40 and then 42 euros, it will always remain fixed at 38 euros until the date of the race May 1, 2022.
