Sunday, February 16th, 8,500 participants at the ZeroWind Romeo&Juliet Run Half Marathon 21K, Adigeo RELAY and Avesani Family Run. Reversed course, even faster, passing twice through the historic center.
VERONA - The ZeroWind Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon 21K, Adigeo Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon RELAY and Avesani Romeo&Giulietta Family Run were presented today, Wednesday, February 5th, at the Sala Arazzi of Palazzo Barbieri, the seat of the Municipality of Verona. Three inclusive events that will have 8,500 people walking or running in the Scaliger city, from the indomitable athletes of the Gold Fidal-classified half marathon, to the 'lovers' of the relay race, up to families, children and adults of all ages for the Family Run.
Annamaria Molino, Municipal Councilor for the Healthy Cities Network-WHO of the Municipality of Verona: "In this era where sedentary lifestyle is a problem that seriously undermines health, events like this allow us to share an opportunity for physical and social well-being.
As an administration, we are therefore grateful to the organizing company but also to all the partners who make it possible to put together this event. For Verona it is also an opportunity to generate tourism, many will come to visit the city with a positive economic impact."
Stefano Stanzial, General Manager of Gaac 2007 Veronamarathon Asd:
"I thank the municipal administration for their important support. This year the event comes of age, it turns 18. The numbers are important, they are returning to pre-pandemic levels with a significant jump in foreign participants, who will be over 1,500 compared to 600 last year.
We expect 8,500 athletes, over 6,000 in the ZeroWind Romeo&Juliet Run Half Marathon 21K, about 300 relay teams in the Adigeo Romeo&Juliet Run Half Marathon RELAY, and almost 2,000 participants in the Avesani Romeo&Juliet Family Run. As always, we have created a format that everyone can join thanks to the opportunity to participate in non-competitive events.
From a technical point of view, we will have African athletes and some Italian names, but we have invested our resources above all in services, such as the shuttle service."
"We are extremely proud of our medal, created by our staff together with Dal Mas Medals, our trusted printer for years. This edition is truly special, an object that represents our event but also Verona.
We look forward to seeing you at the start of our beautiful race."
Colonel Nicola Castello, Commander of the 85th RAV "Verona" Caserma Duca:
"We are happy and honored to once again have the opportunity to be part of this event. In recent months we have worked together with Gaac 2007 Veronamarathon Asd to create a special emotion for the marathon runners who passed through the Caserma Duca, but also for us who were an active part. I am sure that in the coming years this collaboration will continue because sport is a vehicle for fundamental values for the soldiers of the Italian Army, not only on a physical level. From the very first weeks of training, we instill in our young students the importance of sport as a healthy lifestyle, essential for building trained personnel capable of guaranteeing the security of the country. When we participate in such a beautiful event, well organized and that puts our students in contact with the city, we can only participate with greater enthusiasm.
At the moment we have about 500 students, of whom about 80% come from far away. This year the Non-Commissioned Officer of the Regiment Corps and some members of the training structure are here with me, the Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Donato and the instructors Argentina and Marongiu and with them there will be 400 students in the race, easily recognizable, all dressed in a beautiful t-shirt for which I thank Stefano Stanzial and we will sing the national anthem."
Nicolò Ferrarese, Marketing Manager ZeroWind:
"Our partnership is long-standing, because we share the values of sport. Our technical fabrics are perfect for physical activity, which is why our collaboration is natural. In recent months we have started a rebranding that will be presented on the T-shirts of the ZeroWind Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon 21K.
There is enthusiasm in the company for the approaching event. We are preparing to sweat too on Sunday, February 16th."
Fabio Fornasier, Center Manager of the Adigeo Shopping Center:
"I bring greetings from the entire shopping center, I thank Gaac 2007 Veronamarathon Asd for involving us in this first experience, we are honored to be able to collaborate. Adigeo plays a commercial role in the city of Verona but it is also a social reality, given that we register 1 million visits a year. We are therefore projected to collaborate with events that make our city increasingly attractive and with which we share the values of sport.
Over 2,000 employees work for us, 75% are women and we like to be able to invest in the Adigeo Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon RELAY precisely because of the basic idea of sharing the path. We have launched a small competition that will start on February 8th and will offer 10 relay races for those who leave their own message that combines sport and communication on the theme of love.
Good luck to all."
Valentina Avesani - "Our mission has always been to bring people to rediscover the pleasure of being together, just as it happens when we share the authentic flavors of our land. This is why we are happy to support an event that celebrates family and community."
Sergio Baldo, President of C.R. Veneto FIDAL:
"Over the years, Verona has been able to grow and has become one of the leading Italian cities for road events. The Veronese movement is growing due to its ability to offer an event with high organizational quality and inclusiveness, as evidenced by the doubled presence of foreigners.
This growth is also due to the ability to interact with foreign countries and to network with the territory and institutions and to offer an event with a high social character. Thanks to those who have been able to cultivate a passion for running in an innovative and competitive way, I am truly proud that Verona represents a high-level reality."
